Sacramento king salmon season winding down 12/20/2021

The late fall salmon season will end December 31st, we had a good shot of rain a few days ago that dropped about 3” The river came up and blew out for a day. It’s in perfect shape now. The last rise pushed a lot of the fish we had around up river. There are still a few around but nothing like there was. Today we ended up with 3 nice king salmon. We had a few other chances. The late fall salmon fishing is never a numbers game. We will continue to fish kings on the Sacramento River a few more days. It’s time to switch gears and get after the winter steelhead fishing on the trinity River!
