LOWER SACRAMENTO RIVER FISHING REPORT NOVEMBER 17TH 2019

The 2019 Fall Salmon season was a good run. Had lots of hook ups and plenty of Salmon in the river. Now we are waiting on the late fall run of king salmon to make there appearance. That should be any day now. We will finish up the Salmon season December 16th. Then we open back up July 16th. The upcoming winter run is a new fresh batch of fish. Bright, silver and typically bigger then the fall run. This time of year is usually less the boat pressure. With boat traffic being a lot lighter. Our Trout and Steelhead fishing is as good as you can ask for. With Salmon spawning through out the river. The Rainbows and Steelhead are waiting below to eat any loose eggs floating down river. We have been putting lots of big Trout/Steelhead in the net everyday. We are catching 4 to 5 pound rainbows on light line and ultra lite spinning rods or fly rods. We have amazing days you don’t want to miss. I have been fishing here my whole life, and it’s still one of my favorite days on the water fishing Trout/Steelhead in Redding CA. This will continue to fish great tell the end of the year. Over the mountain on the TRINITY RIVER the water is really low and clear. This makes the fish move very slow up river. That can be a good thing. We could use some rain to make it a better flow for fishing. But rain will come when it’s ready sooner or later. That doesn’t stop us from fishing and catching 4 to 8 steelhead a day. So i’m not complaining. Some days we don’t even see another boat or bank fisherman all day! thats pretty rare these days!! the TRINITY RIVER will only get better as the days go on.
