Sacramento River fishing report: the lower sacramento river is seeing a break in the amount of boats/fishing pressure. Due to this HORRIBLE virus. I hope every one stays heathy and safe. we are doing everything we can to help stop the spread. With that, on the sac river the fish are super grabby. We are catching plenty of fish on egg PATTERNs. in the deep holes to fast choppy water. We are fishing from Redding ca to Anderson. We are covering about 15 miles of some of the best trout and steelhead water you can get. the most productive way to catch these wild fish, is side drifting. with a slinky WEIGHT with certain sizes, depending on water speed. With a piece of pauske cured natural roe on a number 6 owner hook. Another great way is bobber dogging/float fishing eggs. depends on water speed, depth of water and where the fish are laying. Having both on hand is the way to fish every piece of water. the corect and most productive way. That will increase your bites in a big way. We have some really nice weather starting Monday. fly fishing is going to take center stage. lots of pmds/caddis and yellow sallies COMING off. This is the peak season on the SACRAMENTO RIVER for the next few months for trout/steelhead . We will be running both fly fishing and spin fishing trips on the Sacramento River.
