1/1/2022 trinity river steelhead fishing report.

Happy new year, we are excited for another great year of fishing, we are currently fishing the trinity River and the Sacramento River. The trinity fished really well the last couple of days with a good amount of fish throughout the river. So fishing from Lewiston down to junction city has been good. The boat pressure hasn’t been to bad at all. Usually I don’t see many boats in January or February. The flows are at 550 cfs as of now. We got a good storm rolling in on Monday and Tuesday. The lower river is predicted to blow out on Monday, the good news is we will be able to always find a area to fish on the trinity River. The upper River will fish just fine. This big rise will definitely have a good push of fish headed up river for the hatchery. We will start to see some of the bigger fish any day. January and February is when the bigger fish show up. We are getting good storms like the good old days so I’m pretty excited to spend a lot of time on the trinity. We have been getting a few tagged fish and hatchery fish every day. So keeping a few for the bbq is definitely happening now. If you are wanting to get a day in on the trinity River steelhead fishing this winter with me. I suggest you get your date booked. I only got a couple days in January and a few in February open to fish.
